Banana Protein Frappuccino

Happy Monday!! 

Sadly, most people don’t feel those two words go together, Happy and Monday. Monday has gotten a bad rap over the years and most people dread it. I don’t know about you, but I don’t really want to spend so much of my life dreading a day. That just doesn’t seem like something I want to waste my energy on. If you find yourself with the Sunday scaries and dreading Monday, ask yourself why? What are you dreading so much about that day? Is it having to go back to work? Is it having to wake up early? Find what is making you dread the start of your week and face it head on. Changing our perspective on things is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. If you hate your job and dread it every day, you either need to quit and find something that wont make you a miserable heap, or you need to change your perspective. No one wants to hear you complain about how much you hate your job, its exhausting and brings everyone down, including yourself. So if you feel that it is absolutely not in the cards for you to quit your job and find something else, then it’s time to change your perspective on that certain situation. I know, I know, it is so much easier said than done, but it is ultimately up to you whether you’re going to hate your work life or embrace it and find something good in it. And that goes for every aspect of life. Only you can decide to make good days good and bad days bad. Obviously, we’re all going to have off days, but if you’re finding that those off days are happening more often than they are not, you have some changes you need to make. It’s not going to happen overnight, it’s going to take a lot of practice, but if you’re sick of being miserable on Mondays, I highly recommend you start learning how to change your perspective for your own well-being.

Monday’s let you have a brand new fresh start to a week. Anything negative or bad that happened the week before are washed away and you get to start totally fresh. You get to make new goals, new plans, new lists, new PERSPECTIVES! Do something nice for yourself every Monday. Maybe get up a little earlier and go for a walk in the crisp morning air to jump-start your day. Maybe treat yourself to an iced coffee (or try my recipe below!) Try to find something good in everyday and stay focused on that. It can be as simple as the fact that you are capable of working and have a steady job that provides for you and your family. Try to stay clear of focusing your energy on your rude boss or annoying colleague because you can’t change their rude/annoyingness so there is no sense is spending your precious time and energy focusing on something you can’t change. The weekend will always come, I promise you. But if you’re spending your whole week waiting for the weekend, you’re wasting SO MUCH of your life! So let’s take back our Mondays and CHOOSE to make it a great day and therefore, a great week! Our happiness ultimately lies in our own hands.

I’ll help you out on this Monday and give you a little pick me up. Banana Protein Frappuccino. YUM! This is seriously so easy to make and gives you the perfect Monday morning boost without all the sugar that is in the typical Starbucks Frappuccinos. A grande Mocha Frappuccino from Starbucks has 61g of sugar, that’s 12 teaspoons of sugar! Yikes. That will only leave you stranded from a sugar crash in your late Monday morning meeting. So try this super easy, super delicious Frap instead!


Total Time: 3 minutes
Yields: 1 Frappuccino

What you’ll Need:

  • Blender/magic bullet
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop Chocolate protein powder (*or any flavor you like)
  • 1 cup cold brew or cold coffee
  • 3 or 4 ice cubs
  • If you like your drinks even sweeter, you could add 1 or 2 teaspoons of honey


  • Put all ingredients in your blender/bullet and let it do its thing until totally smooth
  • Eat up!

*Tip: Never ever throw out bananas that are browning! Peel them, put them in a plastic bag, and throw them in the freezer. I always have frozen bananas on hand for smooties or drinks like this one.
